Karla C. Sewald

Karla Sewald (Van Zant), 46, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 28, 2017 at 5:44 a.m. Karla was a vibrant, fun, passionate, and determined wife and mother who lived life on her terms. Karla’s gentle soul and passion for life was evident to everyone who met her. She was an inspiration to many and let her children be her light. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and was brought into this world joining a family of sisters, Tami and Kim, with younger brother Ryan joining the family after Karla. Karla enjoyed snowmobiling and boating growing up in Michigan. Her and her family moved to Colorado in 1983. Karla graduated from Arvada West and continued on to obtain her Associates Degree as a graphic designer while working at Blue Cross Blue Shield. Karla worked as an independent contractor for her company, Guiding Light Graphics shortly thereafter. She was currently employed and worked proudly and passionately as a Graphic Designer for Pfiedler Enterprises/AORN. Karla loved her work, but she had a passion and love for the people she worked with most. The light of Karla’s life were her 3 year old twins, Kaylee and Carson, born October 9th, 2013. The twins were a gift from god, adding even more happiness and joy to her life. Karla enjoyed teaching the kids crafting, which was Karla’s favorite hobby. She made handmade cards every year for holidays with passion and loved giving them away to recipients. She lived happily with her husband Clay, 2 American Eskimo dogs, and her wonderful children. Our lives will be forever changed. We miss her immensely. She was a gal with the MOST impressive smile. Heaven is now her home and the spirits have become brighter with the arriving light of Karla Sewald (VanZant). She is survived by her husband, Clayton; children, Kaylee and Carson Sewald; parents, Roy T. Van Zant III and Hila R. Van Zant; siblings, Kim (Frank) Klinkovsky, Tami Rose, and Ryan Van Zant; father and mother in law, Bob and Donna Sewald; sisters and brother in law, Andrew (Debbie) Sewald, Nancy (Nicholas) Ho, and Kim Sewald; and nieces and nephews, Shay Klinkovsky, Jason Klinkovsky, Dylan Klinkovsky, Daniel Klinkovsky, Chei Sewald, Owen Ho, Heather Sewald, and Andrew Sewald. Viewing will be on Sunday, October 8, 2017, from 2-6 PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, in Arvada, Colorado 80003. Memorial service celebrating and honoring Karla's life will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Arvada United Methodist Church, 6750 Carr Street, in Arvada, Colorado 80004. The family is accepting flowers at either event.
