Karla Snyder

January 8, 1956 — June 22, 2011

Karla, age 55, of Englewood passed away on June 22, 2011. Karla is the daughter of Joan and was preceded in death by her father, Wesley F Snyder. She is the sister of Jodi Mauro (Pasquale) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Thomas Wesley (Cynthia) of Littleton, Colorado; aunt of Dayna Maynard, Shayna (Rich) Pierece and Chandra (Shawn) Cornell; and four great nephews, all of Littleton, Colorado. She was an avid Colorado Rockies fan and season ticket holder (behind home plate) for many years. Days before her passing, her dear friend Manny Rodrigues III presented her with a signed baseball. Pitcher Matt Belisle not only wanted to sign it himself but took the ball to the entire team for signatures, and with the baseball he also wrote a note thanking her for being such a loyal fan. Karla always enjoyed watching and participating in sports. From playing fast pitch softball in the 70's, racquetball, diving in the Caribbean...and even once swam with the manatee, volleyball with Special Olympics, and watching the Avalanche, she always loved her sports. Because of her love of cats, Karla provided a substantial donation to the Cat Care Society in Lakewood. A memorial bench with a plaque will be placed in their courtyard in her honor. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 4:00 p.m., at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. Memorials may be made in Karla's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o El Jebel Shrine, 4625 West 50th Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80212.
