Karon Jean Pennie, age 81, passed away in Wheatridge, Colorado, on Saturday, March 13th, 2021. Born to Mildred Foley and Robert Hynes in Watseka, Illinois, she moved to Colorado and met her husband John (Jack) Pennie. She spent 50 years in Northglenn with him, and had two sons John and David Pennie. She filled her life with family and friends including a daughter in law, Genisi Pennie, and three grandchildren, Ethan, Hazel and Justin.
Karon was a nursing assistant by trade until she married and had children, and then transitioned into sales, which she found herself to be excellent. From Avon to Insurance, she was great at anything she worked at. She talked daily with her closet friends, Gail Kleckner, Sharyn Smith, Ruth Ann Morse and Sheryl Bliss. She loved to play cards with neighbors and friends, get involved in her sons’ activities, and shopping, (mostly for gifts for others!) She treasured her many cats over the years and had a special place in her heart for Maine Coons.
Karon was a devoted mother, wife and friend. She spread love around and remembered to call and check in. She was inviting to children in the neighborhood, offering a meal and just a fun place to hang out. She brought people in need into her home. She was all heart. She will be loved and missed.
