Born Kathleen Ann Cushing, she was brought into this world on September 9th, 1947 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Katee’ attended McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas for her undergraduate degree in teaching and soon after graduation married Howard “Bud” Reed and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. Here she would have and raise her two daughters, Shelby and Kim.
Her house was a warm and inviting home, and she raised her girls to be kind to the animals and wildlife. She taught her daughters how to grow a garden and fix a homemade meal. She instilled in her girls the importance of spending time outside and enjoying what all Colorado Nature had to offer. Family was everything to her and spending time with those she loved was of upmost importance.
Katee’ found a way to be home with her girls when they were young and still give back to her community by creating an in-home daycare where she watched over and taught numerous children over many years.
In the early 1990’s, Katee’ decided to go back to school and receive her Master’s in Social Work. This new job title would take her back to Cheyenne, WY; Canyon City, Colorado; and Nevada for work.
Katee’ was always interested in Native American Culture and was a proud member of the Cowgirls of the West Association in Cheyenne. Katee’ was an accomplished artist. She loved to travel and many of her adventures took her around the globe.
