Kathy Taiclet left us on November 09, 2010 after battling heart and lung issues. She is survived by her son Kevin and his wife Amanda; daughter Kim and her husband Todd; son David; brother Richard Prescott; sister Helen Eisaman; her grandchildren Nathan, Danielle and Levi; as well as nieces, nephews and many, many other friends and relatives from around the world who loved her well. Kathy and her husband Dan, who passed on in 1983, were married in 1955 in a double ceremony with their best friends Barbara and David Manter. Kathy met Barbara in Nursing school and worked as an RN prior to the birth of her children. She and Dan lived all over the western United States until 1972, when they moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where Dan worked for Atlantic Richfield and Kathy was president of the American Women's Association; president of the School Board at Jakarta International School; worked with local charities; and was socially active. Nobody was a better friend, mother, aunt or sister than Kathy. She was a mom, not just to her children, but to all of their friends. She was the ""cool mom"" who would listen and understand. Kathy returned to Denver after Dan passed and spent the rest of her life here. She loved her friends and loved nothing better than traveling with them or to them. She worked for the Davis Agency for several years; and, for the past few years, worked as a volunteer at Channel 7 News until failing health caused her to stop. She will be remembered by us all for her wit, laughter and upbeat attitude. Her life was a blessing to all who ever had the chance to know her. Visitation to be held Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Funeral Service to be held Monday, November 15, 2010, 11:00 a.m., both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to The Gathering Place, 1535 High Street, Denver, Colorado 80218 or at www.the-gatheringplace.org.
