Kathleen Justice

Kathleen (Kathy) Carroll Saxman Justice, born 10/14/43 in Chicago, IL to Donald R. and Hazel C. Saxman, died 5/9/10 in Thornton, CO. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Thomas Justice, residents of Northglenn, CO for 34 years. They have two daughters, Carolyn (Tim) Nelson and Laura (Douglas) Hughes, five grandchildren, Emily, Grace, Adam, Sarah and Michael. She is survived by her siblings Nancy (Randy) Zierfuss, and John (Pat) Saxman, and sisters-in-law Betty Howard and Barbara (Wayne) Jenkins, and was preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Donald Robert Saxman, Jr. and her parents in-law, J.C. and Mary Justice, brother-in-law Tam Justice and his wife Patsy. Kathy graduated from University of Illinois School of Nursing with a BSN in 1967, and her long career included many facets of nursing until she retired as a caring hospice nurse. She earned her Master of Arts Degree in Communications from University of Northern Colorado in 1986, receiving the Graduate Dean's Citation of Excellence. She was a proud four time recipient of City of Northglenn's Yard of the Month Award. Kathy was an accomplished cellist with the Ft. Collins Symphony Orchestra, Longmont Orchestra, and principal cellist with Mostly Strauss Orchestra. She will be remembered by family and friends for her lifelong love of nursing, music, sewing, gardening, and family. Memorial Contributions suggested to Association of Operating Room Nurses Foundation which may be made online at www.aorn.org. Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 23, 3PM, Central Presbyterian Church, 1660 Sherman Street, Denver.
