The World lost a most beloved, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend on the morning of June 1st. Kathy Wiegel will be remembered as a mentor to many. Her love for all living things; people, animals, and nature will be missed by all. A friend to anyone, her passion for others was second to none! We are all in shock and have a huge hole as this women's life filled such a gigantic space. We stand United as one with the family and mourn the loss of her earthly presence knowing that we will rejoice as she is at peace in Heaven. As you all know, Kathy lived simply. She would be the first to give the shirt off her back or lend you her last few bucks and offer a herbal remedy for anything that may be ailing you. Kathy was preceded in death by her Mother, Joan Flaherty Friebel of Shelby, OH. Kathy was survived by her best friend, soulmate, & husband Jon Wiegel of Brighton, CO. Her children Jes & Hannah Wiegel both of Brighton ,CO. Jennifer Strickland of Nashville, TN. Her siblings and their spouses: Shannon (Shelley) Friebel of Shelby, OH. Valerie (Rick) Stone of Shelby, OH. Jodie Gumbert of Shelby, OH. She was also blessed with 8 nieces & nephews and 9 great nieces & nephews and numerous cousins. Kathy grew up in the small town of Shelby, OH. She graduated high school there in 1981. Immediately following graduation, Kathy enlisted in the United States Army. While in the Army, Kathy traveled all over the United States, in 1985 Kathy ended her Military career when she was stationed in Fort Carson, CO. Colorado was somewhere she had always wanted to live. Kathy did lots of traveling over the next few years. Then in April 1997, while working at Pep Boys in Wheatridge, CO her entire life changed when she met her one true love; Jon. Kathy went to school in Boulder, CO from 1997-1999 to get her certifications in herbology & nutrition. While still in school, she started her own business, Green Woman Herbs. Kathy loved & adored all her fur babies! Her four-legged babies, Maximus, Sakari, Jade, & Lynx. Also, the ones in Rainbow Heaven; Stoney, Sheena, Tikani, & Jewel. She also loved all of her little feathered friends. Services to celebrate her life will be held: Wednesday, June 5th, 2018.
