Kathryn Andrus Barnett

Kathryn Andrus Barnett passed away October 6, 2009 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. She was born October 15, 1948 in Boulder City, Nevada to Laron and Coralie Coleman Andrus. She spent her childhood traveling in a military family, living in Texas, Japan, Wyoming, and New Mexico. Kathy married Keith J. Messenger in July of 1965. Two children, Trisha Messenger and Keith J. Messenger Jr. were born in that marriage. Kathy and Keith later divorced. Kathy was married and sealed to John William ""Bill"" Barnett on March 19, 1988 in the Denver Colorado LDS Temple. Kathy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived her life exemplifying characteristics of Jesus Christ, such as service to others, loving and supporting family, and following in his footsteps by avoiding even the appearance of wrong doing. She was a very talented lady who shared her time and talents by serving faithfully in the Church. She was an employee of the Denver Colorado LDS Temple for 20 years, retiring on August 3, 2009. Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared dearly for her siblings and extended family, sharing fun stories and facts of family history. She always enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Kathy loved the Savior Jesus Christ and lived her life to follow his example. In doing so, she did her best to always make the right decision. Thank you Kathy, for who you were and for the example you set. We are all better people because we knew you. Kathy is survived by her husband, Bill Barnett; children, Trisha Messenger, Keith J. Messenger Jr., Frank William Barnett, Lia Wren Burns; nine grandchildren, Kendra, Kyle, Casey & Cammille Messenger; Olivia, Griffin & Sophia Muzylowski; Haley Barnett and Alexander Burns; Siblings, Marilee (Earl) Hill, Suzanne (David) Jensen, Craig (Julie) Andrus, Steven (Cathy) Andrus and Bob (Mary) Andrus. She was preceded in death by her parents Laron and Coralie Andrus. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, from 12:30pm – 1:15pm, followed by the Funeral service at 1:30pm. The visitation and the service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3101 South Flanders Street, Aurora, Colorado. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery, Provo, Utah. Memorial donations may be made on Kathy's behalf to LDS Fast Offerings or to the LDS Missionary Fund.
