It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Kathryn Ferrell Hobbs on October 25, 2016. Kathryn gave charitably of her time, love, and mind. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Kathryn was a graduate of the University of Texas and Baylor Medical School. She kept the boots, but made Denver her home more than twenty-five years ago. Known affectionately as ""Mama Kat,"" her tireless compassion and concern for others left a permanent mark on patients, colleagues, and friends. Her combined intelligence and warmth was evident in all aspects of her life, most notably in her passion for family, animals, music, art, and politics. An accomplished equestrian, dedicated musician, and world-renowned rheumatologist, Kathryn was a warrior princess until the end. She defined the meaning of grace. She is survived by her beloved children, Bennett and Jo Ruby Wright; parents, Joe and Kay Hobbs; and husband, Dr. Marc Cohen. Kathryn will be remembered by family and friends whenever they hear the harmonies of a choir, applaud a soprano's aria, behold a mountain view, or witness the power and beauty of a horse in competition. A memorial will be held November 12, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Denver at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, she asked that you donate to your favorite charity or do something kind for a stranger. Please share memories of Kathryn and condolences with her family by signing the guestbook below.
