Kathryn "Katie" Keller

Kathryn, “Katie” Keller, age 61, passed away on October 2nd, 2024, in Golden, Colorado. Katie was born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on April 18th, 1963, the third of four children. She attended Wheat Ridge High School, and Colorado State University. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. After working at Asphalt Paving Company out of college, she was able to follow her dream of working with horses every day and became the owner and manager of Capricorn Farm.

Katie was a beacon of light to each person she met. Her vibrant smile could light up a room and her laugh could brighten up anyone’s day. A daughter, sister, and mother, she was a friend to all. She truly had the most selfless spirit and would help no matter the situation. Katie always held an open door, whether it be at the barn or her home, she was more than willing to help a horse or human in need. Her love for the Lord was evident in each act of kindness that she performed daily.

Katie’s service will be held on October 17th, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Mother Cabrini Shrine, with a reception to follow at 4:00 PM at the Golden Hotel. The memorial service will be streamed live to participate virtually: https://m.youtube.com/@mothercabrinishrine5913/streams The family will be available for condolences between 1:00 PM ad 1:45 PM before the service and/or at the Golden Hotel at 4:00PM after the service.

She leaves behind her three children, Kelley Buringa, Clint Buringa, and Jenna Thomas; as well as her brothers Jeff Keller (Vyonne), John Keller (Lisa), and Jim Keller (Sherry); and her nieces and nephews: Nicole Shannon (Blake), Jessica Estes (Corey), Tyler (Nicole), William Keller (Brittany), Margaret Lepine (Anthony), Kylie Keller, and Brooklyn Keller.
