Kathryn Alice Maynard

Kathryn Alice Maynard went to be with our Lord on March 12, 2015. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Kathryn had touched many lives in her 95 years. She was the matriarch of our family. We all looked up to her and we all loved her dearly. She worked at Samsonite Luggage for 38 years. She did a lot of different jobs in the making of the luggage and after an injury made it impossible for her to work in the factory; she worked in the corporate office. After she retired she devoted all of her time to the VFW Post. She was the Secretary and pretty much ran the VFW Post business. She volunteered at Fitzsimons weekly to serve coffee and donuts to the veterans. She hosted all of the functions at the VFW Post. She sold poppies. She also hosted a lot of family events like family reunions, weddings, and lots of parties at the Post. She was a wonderful, giving, remarkable women and she will be missed by many not only her family but all of those that worked with her or anyone that got to know her. Kathryn is survived by her twin brothers — George and Walter Kois and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the charity of your choice.
