Kathryn Ann Troop

June 27, 1963 — January 29, 2012

Kathryn Ann (Cooksey) Troop, 48 years old, passed away January 29, 2012. She was born in Sandstone, MN June 27, 1963 to Jim and Tina Cooksey, moving to Denver, CO when she was one year old. Although spending part of her youth in California & Montana, she finished school in Denver and established that as her permanent home. She went on to gain her certification in Dental Assisting from Emily Griffith School in 1982. She continued on to a lifetime career in the Dental Health Profession, with brief stops along the way as a travel agent, computer software salesperson, personal trainer, and massage therapist. She had a great love for reading, listening to all genres of music, playing chess, travel , scuba diving—she was certified as a Divemaster in 2007, snow skiing, and most of all spending time being an aunt to her niece & nephews , all of whom she cherished dearly. Easy to meet and always a smile on her face, she acquired many friends throughout her lifetime owing to her compassion, kind heart, and sense of humor. She rescued several dogs from the Dumb Friends League as well as being a frequent contributor to their organization, and she had a fierce love of all animals. She is survived by her husband, Andre Robichaud, Aurora, Colorado; Father, Jim Cooksey, and stepmother, Jan, Lompoc, California; Mother, Tina Oxley, Billings, Montana; her brother, Jack Cooksey and wife Cheryl , Fort Collins, Colorado; step mother to Matthew; nephews Ryan, Kyle, Trevor and Brandon Cooksey , Brandon's wife Annie and grand nephew Hunter, all of Fort Collins; and sister Jacinda and her husband Ed, niece Dessie and nephew Austin of Morrison, Colorado. Visitation is Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 10am – 3pm at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth, Aurora; service at 3pm, followed by a reception. There will be cremation later in the week.
