Kaymen Weingardt joined the angels in heaven on Sunday May 31, 2020.
He was born to David Weingardt and Shelley Lawver on February 3, 2003 in Englewood, Colorado.
Kaymen attended elementary school at Patterson International School, Belmar Elementary School & Eiber Elementary School. He attended Alameda International Junior/Senior high school where he completed his Junior year in May 2020. Kaymen was also a member of Saint Bernadette Parish where he attended Mass and âsang in the choirâ with his family.
Kaymen was a gentle soul with a beautiful smile. When he greeted you, he started with a sideways glance and slow smile, that erupted into a full grin and a laugh. His laugh was always present as he pursued his favorite activities. It was fascinating to watch him put together his puzzles as he always knew the exact order he wanted the pieces placed. Most recently, he added digital puzzles to his mastery, and he loved to hear the computer give him positive feedback before he pushed the arrow to go on to his next challenge. In the swimming pool, Kaymen would wear three pairs of goggles and splash and splash, just because it was so much fun. As he played basketball, he would shout âShoot for twoâ whenever he made a shot. Kaymen faced many challenges in his young life, but he faced them all with remarkable bravery. In high school, Kaymen took on the challenge of learning to ski, and his joy at skiing down the slopes soon made him a favorite on the slopes of Winter park in the NSCD program. He participated in so many activities: Camp Paha in the summer, Tim Tebowâs âA Night to Shineâ Prom every February, All-Stars Club every month; and he also enjoyed regular swim/water therapy sessions. Kaymenâs ability to find pure joy in simple activities is his greatest legacy that he left to those in his life. The glow of his smile and the sound of his laughter will remain with us always.
Besides his family, friends, and anyone he met, Kaymen had a love for music, horse riding, busses, all kinds of trucks, and especially trains. He was elated when his Daddy would take him for a train ride. It could be the Light Rail, the Royal Gorge Railway, the Cumbres & Toltec, or the Georgetown Loop. They all made him happy. Sometimes others in the family were privileged to go along on a train ride. What fun we all had riding the train with Kaymen and Dave! Kaymen had a guitar which he loved to carry around and strum his music for us. He loved his pets. He would greet Teddy, his yellow lab every morning and go downstairs where his kitty, Leo would be waiting on the back of the couch for his greeting.
When Kaymen wanted your company, he would take your hand and lead you to his next adventure.
Kaymen was an exceptional child who loved life and inspired all who knew him. He, along with his brother Garrett, were great and precious gifts to us from our loving God.
Kaymen taught us so much. We have each become a better person by his presence in our lives. His sweet smile lit up our days. His contagious laughter made us all happy.
Kaymen is survived by his mother, Shelley Lawver, father, David Weingardt, Jody Hatter, who played a significant role in his life, brother Garrett, and grandparents, Ron and Janet Weingardt, Ron Lawver and Judy Lawver. And all his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
