Keith H. Hale

Keith Hale, 88 years of age, passed away April 18, 2015 in Aurora, Colorado. Keith H. Hale was born in Orchard, Iowa on June 18, 1926 to Homer and Cecil Johnson Hale. Keith attended a party in November of 1943 where he met Marilyn Orth, his wife of 65 years, seven months, and four days. They would date and become engaged before he deployed with the United States Navy in June of 1944. After his discharge from the Navy, they were married at First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, Iowa on July 10, 1946. The couple lived in various places in Iowa until relocating to Aurora, Colorado in 1989. Keith was always very devoted to the Presbyterian church and while in charge of the Covenant Cupboard at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Greenwood Village, Colorado Marilyn and Keith shopped garage sales every weekend for seven years to gather children's books. Together they donated over 20, 000 books. Keith is survived by sons Jon M. Hale, Terry K. Hale, and Larry W. Hale, daughter Candace ""Candy"" L. Hale Wingrove, eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his wife Marilyn, his parents Homer Howard Hale and Cecil Lavina Johnson, son Dennis F. Hale, and one grandson. A Memorial Service for Keith will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Cherry Creek Retirement Village, 14555 East Hampden Avenue in Aurora beginning at 10:00 in the morning. A reception will follow the service, also at Cherry Creek Retirement Village. Burial at a future date at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Family requests donations be made in Keith's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
