Kelly Jean Sueling, 58, of Northglenn slipped into Eternity at Collier Hospice in the early hours of October 13th, 2024 and the world is lesser for it.
Kelly was a remarkable Woman who never met a stranger and never failed to make a friend. She was inexplicably beautiful inside and out and everyone who ever met her knew her eyes, smile, and deeply loving heart.
The first person who knew Kelly was special was her Mother, Bonnie.
On the night of September 27, 1966 in the Maternity Ward at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana there were 8 babies born; 7 crying boys and 1 happy girl named Kelly. Bonnie still cherishes this memory as one of the three happiest in her life.
From an early age Kelly was a “Daddy‘s Girl” and loved fishing, football and anything else she could do with her “Honeyboy” to have time together.
Kelly was the middle child and simultaneously troublesome little sister to Shelly, fiercely defensive big sister to Roxeann, and best friend to both. Throughout their shared childhoods they were always found dressed alike and glad to have one another’s company. As life progressed, Kelly would become a Pal to both and was always the first to help in any way they needed.
Kindness, Hope, Humanity, and Compassion were the cornerstones of Kelly’s identity and something she impressed upon her children, James, Josephine, and John.
Though her life was marked with periods of deep struggle and prolonged health issues, Kelly never wavered in her ability to be the light in any room and filled the hearts of everyone who knew her with laughter and joy.
In the winter of 2017, Kelly lost her youngest son John to an overdose and spent the rest of her life missing him and helping people find sobriety.
Despite multiple organ failure, Kelly was still able to donate her corneas following her death, proving that if she had a way to help a stranger she would.
Knowing that her gift will bring sight to two people and that her eyes will see an innumerable amount of sunrises and sunsets even now is proof that Kelly’s contributions to Humanity were always invaluable.
Though her entire family will miss Kelly, the peace they all feel knowing she and her son John are reunited in Eternity is peace enough until they too see her again.
Kelly is survived by her mother Bonnie, sisters Shelly (Sissy) and Roxeann, children James (Avery) and Josephine, aunt Donna, godson Jerry, nieces Erica and Isabelle, Grandchildren Malakai and Nevaeh, and countless lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her father Eric, cousin Daniel, and son John.
Her son James would like to extend his deepest gratitude to the staff of Collier Hospice; especially Daphnie, Brooke and Anne for making Kelly’s transition one of comfort and dignity as well as his aunt Roxeann and great aunt Donna for sitting with him and his mother as she left this world to join his brother.
A Celebration of Life and reunification of Kelly and John will occur in the spring with details to follow. Donations may be made to Kelly’s Memorial Fund or to Collier Hospice in her name.
