Kelly McEntaffer Walls was born in the fall of 1962 in Muskegon, Michigan to her mother, Juanita. Shortly after Kelly's birth, Juanita married Cash Artlip, the man Kelly would call, ""Dad."" Kelly spent her youth with her brothers and sister, Kurt, Kim and Kevin in Michigan, where she graduated from Reeths-Puffer High School. Muskegon was her home until the late 1980's when she moved to Chicago for Nursing School at North Park University. After more than a decade in Chicago, Kelly moved west to Colorado. There she met Andy Walls in the summer of 1999 in Winter Park. They would marry in the spring of 2002. Kelly's joy was fulfilled in 2008 when she gave birth to Cate â what Kelly would call her greatest accomplishment. Kelly enjoyed a successful career in nursing, serving in many units including intensive care, gastroenterology, and post-anesthesia care. She ended her thirty-year career at Littleton Adventist Hospital just this year. Even in the years following her breast cancer diagnosis, she worked a full nursing schedule, often taking additional late-night, on-call shifts when they became available. She would return home after those shifts, exhausted, yet enthusiastically ready to be a mother for the love of her life, Cate. Kelly lived and loved for five years after her stage IV breast cancer diagnosis. She is survived by her mother, Juanita, her brothers and sister, Kurt, Kim, and Kevin, their families, her daughter Cate, and her husband, Andy. A Memorial Service to celebrate Kelly's life will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015, 3:00 PM at Mission Hills Church, 620 Southpark Dr, Littleton, CO 80120.
