Kelsey Jean Hays was born on a warm Thursday afternoon on August 16, 1984. She was the answer to many prayers for a healthy baby. Her grandfather, Raymond Thoma, prayed for Kelsey every day of her mother's pregnancy, lighting a week-long burning candle every Sunday at church. Kelsey had brown hair, soft curls, and sparkling blue eyes. She was a happy little girl who loved My Little Pony, Popples, and Rainbow Bright. Every night, she slept in her big, queen-sized bed with her ""bed buddy"" Little Foot and heard her favorite bedtime stories, Quick as a Cricket and Goodnight Moon over and over as her daddy gave in to her pleas of, ""Again Daddy! Read it again."" Kelsey had tiny, almost inaudible sneezes but could out-belch the best! She was never afraid to laugh out loud, and everyone knew her distinctive laugh. She loved Halloween, Christmas, unicorns, scary movies, music, laughing, dancing, angels, animals of all kinds, shopping, hanging out with friends, her family, and Jesus. Kelsey loved life. She was a generous and giving person. When anyone she loved was in need, she was there for them in every way. Her beauty radiated from her eyes and from her soul. She celebrated life to the fullest. Remember Kelsey not by the years in her life, but by the life in her years. Kelsey Jean Hays, 24, of Lakewood. Beloved daughter of Kent & Kathy Hays. Loving sister of Kyle Hays.
