Kenneth Wald Clare, 79, passed away December 18, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born June 3, 1943 in New York City to Seymour Clare and Rebecca (Rae) Wald Clare. He was raised in the community of Jamaica, Queens, NY. He and his brother, Robert, went to Hebrew School and spent many fun summers at Camp Echo Lark. He graduated from Columbia University and worked at IBM before moving to California to work for TRW. Eventually he found his way to Denver, working for Diners Club. It was in the Diner’s Club Ski Club that he met his wife ,Marietta Moore. They married on December 12, 1980. Their daughter, Alexandra ( Alix) was born June 5, 1985. He started a 30 year career at National Jewish Health in 1982 where he was a Manager of Information Systems Projects. After a bout with neck cancer in 2010, he retired in 2011. Ken was an avid bicyclist in his younger years, but mostly he loved to ski and hike all the hills in the foothills of Denver. He was also a lover of music, history and politics. As his illness progressed, he was living at the Morrison Manor Assisted Living Memory Care facility in Lakewood CO. He is survived by his spouse of 42 years, Marietta, his daughter, Alix (John)Grillo, his brother Robert Clare, nephew David (Joy) Clare, niece Jessica Clare and great niece Sarah Clare plus countless family members on his wife’s side. In addition, he leaves behind his beloved Labradoodle, Lola.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or National Jewish Health.
