Ken Hopsicker

April 26, 1971 — June 6, 2021

Littleton, Colorado

Kenneth A. Hopsicker, “Ken” “Kenny” “Hoppy” of Littleton, Colorado, formerly of Dalton, Massachusetts, died peacefully in his home on June 6, 2021, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Ken was born April 26, 1971 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Charles and Catherine Hopsicker. He is a 1989 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School and a 1995 graduate of Arizona State University. He met the love of his life, Linda (Rockman) at SUNY Fredonia in 1991 and married her on July 19, 1997 in Warren, Ohio. That was the happiest day of his life, until the arrival of his and Linda’s son, Cody in 2007.

Ken began his career in the IT field with US West. He was recruited by them right out of college, which moved him to Denver, Colorado in 1995. He spent 15 years in the information technology (IT) field but began feeling the need to explore his entrepreneurial ambitions. His first choice in this journey was to become a licensed real estate agent. In addition to being an agent for buyers and sellers, he also was a real estate investor. He continued in real estate until his death. In addition to real estate, he developed his own IT consulting company. This allowed him to use the parts of IT that he enjoyed and adding in the managerial expertise he had.

In 2013, he became involved with PSI Seminars, the oldest personal development company in the US. He was dedicated to the personal growth the company encouraged in him, which allowed him to become committed to helping others in their growth path. He was an important person to that company and prior to him becoming sick, he was the business manager for them.

Ken was always a service minded person. He received the joy of service from his father. Ken was always just a phone call away whenever someone needed help or an ear to listen. When his son was old enough to begin sports, Ken was a soccer coach for a dozen kids from ages 3-5. He assisted Cody’s Boy Scout troop and became the troop’s treasurer. Ken was also a friend of Bill W’s and sponsored others in their personal struggles. Ken, like his Dad, has instilled his gift of service in his son.

Ken also had many passions to balance his life. He loved hiking and biking, especially with Cody. He got Cody skiing at the age of 3 and loved hitting Copper Mountain with him during the beautiful Colorado winters. He was also extremely musical and was an expert guitar player. He played guitar for his family and friends, at open mic nights, at picnics and parties and at weddings for his close friends. His legacy will live on with all of his favorite songs being played by those who love him.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Linda and his 14 year old son, Cody; his sister, Lisa Hopsicker (Dalton, MA); his mother-in-law, Mary Rockman (Lewis Center, OH); his brother and sister-in-law John and Patty Rockman (Powell, OH) and brother-in-law, Cary Mosher (Powell, OH); four paternal aunts, Patricia Weigel (Sauquoit, NY), Mary Hopsicker (Washington Mills, NY), Barbara Hopsicker (Verona Beach, NY) and Margaret Hopsicker (Old Forge, NY); two maternal uncles, William (Gail) Helmer (Old Forge, NY) and Thomas (Linda) Helmer (Inlet, NY); very dear family friends, Terry and Fran Birt (Groton, CT) and Rick and Diane Musback (Perkinsville, VT). He also leaves a niece and three nephews and many loving cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Hoppy and Casey Hopsicker; his father-in-law, David Rockman; brother-in-law, Jim Rockman; and sister-in-law, Susan Rockman Mosher.
