Ken Rupp

Charles Kendall Rupp (Ken), 76, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Ken was born on December 1, 1946 to Frederick Charles Rupp and Donna Mae Rupp in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from East High School in 1965, winning the state championship with his tennis team his Junior and Senior year. He continued his education with a full-ride tennis scholarship to the University of Denver.

Ken had three children with Cynthia Quiat (Thomson). Being intrigued with Egyptian and other mythologies, he chose unique names for his children: Selket, Sesha and Kepher. They raised their children in Colorado, all but the 2 years they moved their family to Kalispell, Montana.

Ken helped operate and manage the first indoor tennis racquet club in Colorado co-owned by his family, The Colorado Racquet Club (1970s). He was the head teaching pro there for the years the club was open. His love and passion for tennis never faded. With his various sales and marketing jobs throughout his life, he always continued to teach and play tennis on the side. He competed in Open level tournaments into his early thirties, winning several championships. His love of tennis is carried on with all three of his children, and even some of his grandchildren.

Ken married Glynda Rupp in June of 2002. They spent 23 (married 21) wonderful years together.

Ken is survived by his wife, Glynda Rupp; his three children with his first wife (Cynthia): Selket Allen (husband Sean Allen), Sesha Carbonaro (husband Joseph Carbonaro), Kepher Rupp (wife Ashley Rupp); his 7 grandchildren: Madissen Allen (22), Maxwell Allen (21), Gianni Carbonaro (20), Sophia Carbonaro (17), Reese Rupp (10), Kaleb Rupp (7), Haley Rupp (2); and his cats (“the boys”) Sambo and Cheeto.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents; and baby brother, Bruce Scott Rupp.

He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 9:00 am at Horan & McConaty 5303 E. County Line Rd. Centennial, CO 80122
