Kip was born on July 11, 1960 in Washington, DC to proud parents Bonnie and Jerry Trumbule. He spent his first 5 years growing up in the Maryland area and, at the age of two and one-half, welcomed his sister, Valerie to the family. Next came a move to Philadelphia where the family settled in and he began elementary school. Subsequently, the family moved to Toronto, Canada for a year, then to Denver, Colorado where he attended Junior and Senior High Schools. As an adult, he relocated to San Jose, California where he met and married Janet Shuhardt. In 2003, the couple moved back to the Denver area. Kip worked in the high tech industry as a computer systems analyst for several California companies including Computer Craft, Quantum, Edify, and WorkScape. His hobbies and interests included music, stamp collecting, film (especially the early ones), and computing. In recent years, he and Janet have enjoyed nurturing and caring for their birds-- two African Grey parrots, one Amazon parrot, and two cockatiels. Kip was a talented artist- a true Renaissance man who followed his heart and mind into many areas of personal and professional interest. He had a myriad of friends and family who will sorely miss his bright and shining spirit. Please join us in remembering the good times and many blessings he brought to us all. Kip is survived by his loving wife, Janet; parents, Bonnie and Jerry; sister, Valerie; grandmother, Beatrix; niece, Kimberly; aunt, Mary; uncles, Brian and Barry. The family suggests that donations can be made to MoveOn, a political educational and advocacy organization, or to the Alex Foundation, a research organization dedicated to expanding the base of knowledge about parrots as intelligent beings.
