She is survived by her parents Philip and Marilyn of Littleton; her twin sister Kristen of Denver; grandparents Helen and Lee Roy Weiss of Lakewood; uncle Michael Weiss (Sarah) of Highlands Ranch; uncle John Tinsley, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; cousins Matthew and Stephanie Weiss of Highlands Ranch; John Tinsley III (Tracy) of Holly Springs, North Carolina and James Tinsley (Kelly) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Kendra was a Senior Art Major at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. She would have graduated this spring. She had previously received a degree in Culinary Arts. She was very passionate about art and cooking. Her artwork was displayed at The Raw Canvas Gallery and some is currently on display at Il Bistro Italiano. She loved the outdoors and loved to hike, bike, run and camp. She enjoyed hiking in the Colorado National Monument and its beauty. She previously volunteered at a women's shelter. She had a compassion for animals. She also loved to garden. She was very creative and adventurous. She was always ready to try something new like pink or green hair, skydiving, spelunking or running a race. She worked as a line cook at Il Bistro Italiano in downtown Grand Junction. The owners, Ron and Brunella, have arranged a celebration of Kendra's life on Monday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Botanical Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Kendra's name to the Colorado National Monument Association, 1750 Rim Rock Drive, Fruita, Colorado 81521. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood. Private interment.
