Kenneth Charles was born in Amarillo, Texas, on March 21, 1925. He passed away December 23, 2013 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by Grace, his loving wife of 60 years, and parents Clarence and Maude Charles. Survived by children Stephen (Renetta), Sandy (Randy) Kloos, sister Barbara Brown, grandchildren Jared (Melanie) Kloos, and Stephanie (Rick) Murr. Kenneth worked at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, California during WWII, then moved to Cañon City and worked for Mitchell and Egbers Drug Store. He attended Capitol College of Pharmacy in Denver, Colorado, graduating in 1947. He returned to Cañon City to work as a registered pharmacist at what was to become Ream's Palace Drug. He eventually purchased the store from Bob and Opal Ream. He ran a successful business with a concern for others, delivering exceptional customer service. After selling the business to Bill Masse, he continued to work well into his 70's. During his retirement years, Ken worked for Rocky Mountain Memorials helping people purchase memorial headstones. He also cared for his beloved wife, Grace, for many years as she suffered with Alzheimer's disease. During that time, he relied on his devoted sister, Barbara, for love, support and many meals. Kenneth was a kind and generous son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always thought of others before himself. He truly cared about everyone and their well-being. He will be missed by friends and family. A public visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 107 N. 7th Street, Cañon City, Colorado on Monday December 30, 2013.
