Kenneth Harry Davidson passed away on the 7th of January, 2015 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado after a long, hard fought battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 14, 1934 to Frances (Malkmus) and Elmer Davidson. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara (Draffen) Davidson; a brother, Frederick (Jean) Davidson of Springfield, MO; daughters, Denise (Dan) Cook of Keystone/Centennial, CO; Cheryl (Jeff) Heiland of Highlands Ranch, CO; son, Kenneth Neil (Cathleen) Davidson of Highlands Ranch, CO; and nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Andrea Cook. Kenneth spent his early life in Kansas City, MO and attended the University of Kansas where he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956. He married the love of his life Barbara Draffen in 1958. The family moved to St. Joseph, MO in 1965 when Kenneth helped start Snorkel Fire Equipment where he led the Engineering Department until retiring in 1993. Kenneth and Barbara enjoyed retirement traveling and spending winters in Sun City West, AZ. Summers were spent in Colorado to be near family and enjoy their many grandchildren. A rosary and visitation will occur at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service, 5303 E. County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122 at 3:00 pm on January 12, 2015. A Roman Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 South Quebec Street, Centennial, CO 80112 at 11:30 am on January 13, 2015. Final interment service will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64138 at 11:00am on February 7th, 2015. Arrangements are being handled by Horan & McConaty Funeral Service.
