Kenneth O. Kauffman

August 26, 1926 — March 9, 2019

Kenneth O. Kauffman, 94, passed away on March 9, 2019 in Lakewood Colorado. He was born in Almena, Kansas on August 26, 1924 to Oliver and Gertrude Kauffman. Sister, Marvel Gitchel and brother, Walter Kauffman predeceased him. He married Loral Clark in November 1948, a marriage lasting 64 years until Loral passed away on September 30, 2012.

Kenneth served as a sergeant in the Army during WWII. He was assigned to train combat infantry soldiers. After the war he attended Kansas State University graduating in 1950, with a degree in civil engineering, with honors. Ken worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in Nebraska and Colorado retiring in 1979. He also worked for Morrison-Knudsen until retirement in 1988.

Kenneth is survived by three children: Mark Kauffman, Daniel (Sharon) Kauffman and Peggy Kauffman Moss. He leaves behind seven grandchildren: Maggie Keeton, Andrea Michael, Andrew Moss, Eric Moss, Oliver Kauffman, Harrison Kauffman, and Spencer Kauffman. Kenneth also leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 1:00pm, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Interment with military honors will be held following the service at 2:30pm, Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area “B”.
