Kenneth Milton Paul, ""Ken"", passed away at his home on August 5, 2015. Ken was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the 2nd child and only son of Shale and Carolyn Paul. Ken grew up in Virginia graduating from Langley High School in 1976. He attended the University of Colorado, Boulder where he obtained a Bachelor's degree from the school of Environmental Design in 1980. Ken made his home in Golden, Colorado and founded Sunlit Limited. Sunlit was Ken's creation to showcase his incredible artistic talents. Ken loved photography. He made his career shooting model homes and architecture in the Denver area and all over the United States. He accumulated a body of work that showcases his incredible gift to work light, color, balance and harmony in capturing nature, architecture and the human form. Ken was the cover and lead artist in ""Zoom"" magazine in May/June 2005. Ken is remembered by his business friends and collaborators as a consummate professional, a perfectionist, an artist, amazingly creative and a loving, caring and kind man, a class act. In a five year period, Ken's photography earned companies over 50 prestigious MAME Awards and multiple Project of the Year awards. For local architecture firms choosing to feature the best of the best of their work, Ken's images are still among the top images selected. His clients always knew they would get exceptional work, and Ken never disappointed them. To Ken's family and friends, Ken was known to be a loving, deeply thoughtful and spiritual man. He treasured his family and friends. He cared for and helped those he loved in any way he could. He unselfishly would help out any time he could. He loved nature and all God's creations. He disdained judgment and demonstrated love and respect in his relationships. Ken relished the outdoors and all he could do in it. He surfed from the time he was a boy and grew that passion into surfing Hawaii with some of the best in the world. He skied with passion, enjoying the ""double blacks"" in Canada since they were more challenging than the US. He loved running and completed hundreds of road and trail races throughout the Rocky Mountains and beyond. He took up biking and completed the Ride the Rockies bike race including hauling pounds of camera gear through the whole race. In Ken's last two years on earth, Ken steadfastly battled illness. He was courageous and approached the battle as he did everything: with his whole heart and with utmost sincerity. He never, ever gave up in his commitment to Life. His love and courage increased, not diminished throughout, and he never wavered in his companionship and reliance on God. In the face of what appeared to be physical decline, instead we saw Ken grow clearer, brighter and more spiritually rich with each day. Ken, may the light, love, beauty and humor that you express lift you ever higher in your new endeavors and adventures. You are dearly loved. Ken is survived by his Mom, Carolyn Dain, and his three sisters, Lisa Denison, Julie Denison and Jennifer Pearce. In tribute to Ken, we invite you to enjoy some of Ken's favorite images of his work that he features on his website: www.sunlit.biz. In lieu of a public service, the family is scattering Ken's ashes in a place outdoors that he loved.
