Kenneth Rock, a Native of Colorado, died July 26, 2010 at the age of 78 at the Hospice of St. John following a long illness. After serving in the United States Army in Korea, he obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and practiced law in Kansas, Missouri and Colorado over the course of his career. After a stellar career in the General Practice of Law, Ken found his passion was prosecuting criminals and obtaining justice for victims of crime. Ken spent the next 35 years of his career devoted to prosecution and served as Assistant District Attorney in Johnson County, Kansas; Acting District Attorney in Montrose, Colorado; Assistant District Attorney for a six county judicial district in the San Luis Valley and finally retired from the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office in Colorado at the age of 70. Throughout his life, Ken served on numerous Boards and Commissions and worked tirelessly to assist and better the lives of crime victims and children. He was a devoted husband and father of six. While Ken enjoyed many hobbies such as golf, bridge, politics, camping, sharp shooting, and amateur theater musicals; his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and his beloved wife, Cindy, who he nicknamed ""Starshine"". Ken is survived by his wife, Cynthia Rock of Littleton, Colorado; and his children, Kenneth I. Rock, Jr. of Carrolton, Texas; Robyn (Mike) Frye of Olathe, Kansas; Gigi Dennis of Littleton, Colorado; Catherine Pierce of Boerne, Texas; Stephen Smith of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Mike (Jenny) Smith of Oscoda, Michigan and his seven grandchildren; Jackie Frye, Grant Pierce, Katrina Rock, Erin Smith, Corinne Smith, Caroline Smith and Matthew Smith, and his sister Ann Mowrer of Lillinois.
