KENNETH NEIL SORENSEN March 7, 1929- April 20, 2016 Ken was born March 7, 1929 in Englewood Colorado to Nels and Maude Sorensen. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in 1946 and 1947. After an honorable discharge from the military, he formed a small band and played in nightclubs, also making numerous records. At this same time, he joined Mountain Bell telephone company starting as a lineman. He received several promotions and retired after 33 years. Soon after beginning his career with Mountain Bell, he met the love of his life, Belva Pauline. They were married on April 11, 1950. Together, they raised four children, Mike, Linda, Sheila and Jeff. Ken loved his family, golf, woodworking, playing his guitar and singing, fishing and Danish pastries. Ken was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, son Mike, daughter Sheila and four siblings. He is survived by daughter Linda (Jerry) Groomer, son Jeff (Donna) Sorensen, grandchildren Vicki, Sean, Rebecca, Jon, Tammy, Robby and Ricky. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, friend and companion Minetta Martin, and numerous friends. Celebration of Ken's life will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, 11:30 A.M. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth, Lakewood, Colorado. Reception immediately following the service.
