Kenneth Jay Vigil

Kenneth Jay Vigil, age 80, died at Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospice Collier House on March 29, 2025.

Ken was born April 21, 1944 in Leavenworth, Kansas while his father was serving in the Army. At the age of two, he moved to Denver and lived there most of his life. He was drafted into the Army July 12, 1965 and honorably discharged May 23, 1967. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and Bronze Star Medal.

After the military, Ken attended Metropolitan State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. He went on to work in the oil industry as a draftsman. Later in his career, he worked for Ball Aerospace and Boulder Trophy Shop.

Ken met his wife, Janene, on a blind date in 1962. They married September 24, 1965. They had three children: Julie, Jason (deceased), Jodie, and one granddaughter, Jaden. Ken's parents Ernie and Doris preceded him in death. Ken has three living siblings: Wayne Vigil, Deidre Dunlap, and Merikay Anderson, all living in the Denver Metro area.

Ken was artistic, enjoyed doing custom framing as a side job. He loved the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. He went to several Rockies games with friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Arvada Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
