Kenneth C. Weimer

April 1, 1939 — December 9, 2015

Ken was born on April 1, 1939 in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. His parents were Charles and Margaret Weimer. He was baptized at Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church. He had seven siblings. Earl, Judy, and Richard are deceased. His surviving sisters are Patricia, Joan, Wendy, and Debbie. During his childhood, the family moved to Detroit, and later to St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Ken served his country as a Marine during the early period of the Vietnam War, 1958 – 1962. Upon his return, he joined the St. Clair Shores Fire Dept. He had three children from a previous marriage. They are Michelle, Giselle, and John. He had six grandchildren. His firefighting career ended after twenty years due to a serious neck injury from falling through floors. In 1986, he met and married his wife, Pam. They were married at Ascension Lutheran church in Roseville, Michigan on November 11, 1986. He was confirmed at Ascension on March 29, 1987 by Pastor Paul Ibisch. The couple moved to Colorado in 1987, went back to Michigan briefly, and then settled permanently in Colorado in 1989. Over the years they were blessed to be members at Peace, Boulder, Our Saviors, Longmont, and Shepherd of the Valley, Westminster. While Pam taught Lutheran Elementary School, God gave Ken a job as a custodian at ReMax of Boulder, where he made many friends. In his fifties, Ken began having many health problems which eventually resulted in early retirement. He was blessed by God with good doctors and a good sense of humor. He was able to adjust to his health problems because he knew that the Lord would sustain him. Ken served the Lord by cleaning Pam's classroom, trimming bushes and cutting grass at church, and adding levity to Bible class. Ken's final illness was long and painful, but the Holy Spirit preserved his faith in Jesus until the end. Now he is enjoying the crown of Life with no more crying or pain. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 starting at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado.
