Kent Barr

Richard Kent Barr, 81, of Arvada, was born the second of thirteen children to Gladys Westbook Barr and Eugene Ferrell Barr at Alamosa, Colorado on March 13, 1938. He died on August 3, 2019 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Gene, his sister Betty and her husband, Don Bushnell, and his brother-in-law, Gene Gowdy.

He is survived by his life partner, Patti Parr, and by his three sons: Ward and his wife, Stephanie and their daughters Brogan and Tenley; Tony and his wife, Michelle and their children, Taylor, Madison, McKinley and Taft; and Aaron and his wife, Maria; the boys' mother, Frankie Barr; five sisters: Roxie (Preston) Stanley, Dotty Barr, Shirley (Craig) Valentine, Sharlene Gowdy and Sue (Alan) Jackson; six brothers, Max (Betty), Paul ( Dorothy), Brent (Linda), Kirk (Lisa), Mark (Lupe), and Tom (Adele); numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, a number of associates, colleagues and friends from transportation, logistics and aviation disciplines throughout the U. S. and abroad.

Visitation is on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado 80003. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7080 Independence St, Arvada, CO 80004, with Visitation from 10:00 am – 10:45 am. Burial with follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
