Kermit S. Ruesler died on May 20th at Swedish Medical Center in Littleton, CO. He was born on December 16, 1936 in Old Appleton, MO, the son of Edmund H. Ruesler and Mildred (Klaus) Ruesler. He graduated from Perryville High School in 1955, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 1962. He volunteered for the draft and served two years in the Army. After training at Ft. Hood Texas he was assigned to the Army's 4th armored Division, 2nd Howitzer Battalion 14th Artillery in Furth, Germany. He was a reconnaissance Sergeant in a forward observer section. He graduated from the 4th Armored Divisions Non-Commissioned Officers Academy in New Ulm Germany, and also from the 7th Army Troop information instructor's school in Furth, Germany. Besides his regular duties as a reconnaissance Sergeant, he was also the troop information instructor and the training NCO in his battery. He was a member of the American Legion. After his service he worked for Goldsmith's Department Store (now renamed Macy's) in Memphis, TN. He was a buyer for 24 years and then worked for consolidated stores as a store manager until he retired in 2007. He is survived by his daughter Tracy (David) Sungelo of Parker, CO, his grandson Mitchell and his granddaughter Erin also of Parker, CO. He is also survived by his sister Dolores Myer of Jackson, MO, 3 nieces and one nephew. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado on May 28th, 2014. Visitation and Services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 223 W. Adams St., Jackson, MO, on May 30th, 2014 beginning at 9am with visitation and 10:30am services with the Reverend Robert Henrichs officiating.
