Kermit Lloyd Swartwout passed away October 16, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born October 13, 1934 to the late Lloyd and Florence (Rohwedder) Swartwout in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Kermit is the loving husband of Karen (Bohling) Swartwout; father of Lisanne (Donnie) Overholt and Sterling (Kim) Swartwout; grandfather of Michele (Tim) Vigil, Amanda (Cale) Pratt, Natalie Swartwout, Jake Swartwout and Lauren Swartwout. Kermit was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota and lived and worked there for 47 years. Upon leaving Safeguard Industries the family moved to Denver, Colo. where he began his second career as a carrier for the United States Postal Service. He is veteran of the United States Army and was a cowboy at heart with one of his greatest loves in life being horses. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015, beginning at 11:00 in the morning at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street in Thornton. A light reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow services at Mountain View Cemetery in Boulder, Colo.
