Kevin Ross Frels of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, died July 19, 2020 in a vehicle accident. Kevin was known for his natural ability to connect with people, and he was never short a friend for hiking the mountains or a round of disc golf. Kevin loved the outdoors and wanted everyone around him to enjoy it too. He will be remembered for his love of family and adventure, dedicated friendship, generosity, joyful smiles, and pride in his work.
Kevin worked as a surveyor for Aztec Consulting of Littleton, Colorado. He enjoyed serving others and had previously spent years working in restaurant management in the Lake Jackson/Houston, Texas, and Denver, Colorado, areas. Kevin grew up in Pampa, Texas, was a member of First Baptist Church, and a graduate of the class of 2008 at Pampa High School. He played varsity tennis and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Kevin attended West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, and Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Texas.
He is survived by his father and mother, Mark A. Frels and Rhonda K. Frels of Lake Jackson, Texas; brother, Brian A. Frels (Allison Frels) of Highland, Maryland; brother, Michael A. Frels; grandparents, Clarence and Ruth Frels of Bishop, Texas; grandparents, Art and Connie Koog of Round Rock, Texas; one niece and one nephew; aunts, uncles, cousins, and his dog companion, Koda.
Due to the current pandemic, no services will be held. Condolences may be offered online to Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (https://www.horancares.com/). In the spirit of sharing smiles, the family invites memoriam donations in Kevin’s name to the international children’s charity Smile Train (https://my.smiletrain.org/donation/) to benefit children with cleft palate repair and care. Kevin’s life on Earth is celebrated with the assurance of knowing we will be reunited with him again.
