Kevin S. Knierim

Kevin Scott Knierim, 52, of Englewood, CO died unexpectedly on November 15^th, 2018. His memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 25^th at 2pm at Greenwood Community Church in Greenwood Village, CO (5600 E Belleview Ave, Greenwood Village, CO 80111).

Kevin was born on February 25^th, 1966 in San Diego, California. He was adopted by his parents Lynn and Judy Knierim. As an adult, he maintained contact with his birth mother, Dorothy Graber. He grew up in El Cajon, California with his sister, Laura Taylor, and his brother, Mark Knierim. He graduated from Christian High School in 1984. He attended his first year of college playing basketball at the University of San Diego. He later transferred to Oral Roberts University and graduated from there in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. ORU is where he met his wife Mary and was wed to her on February 24^th, 1990 in San Diego, California. Kevin and Mary had four children together. Kevin served in the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a special agent for 15 years and was also on the FBI SWAT team for 13 years. He co-owned a forensic investigative firm called Cyopsis with his business partner, Craig Bernard. He was an incredible and well-loved coach for his daughter's YMCA basketball team, as well as, an involved member of Greenwood Community Church. His legacy as an amazing, kind, gentle, loving, faithful, and hilarious husband and father continues with his wife and children and the many people whose lives were affected by him. His loved ones are at peace knowing that he is in Heaven with his Heavenly Father.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Mary, his son, Spencer (24), his daughter-in-law, Hope (23), and his three daughters, Hannah (21), Emma (19), and Grace (10). He is the uncle of 8 nephews and 3 nieces. He is also survived by his father, Lynn. He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy who passed on July 22, 2018.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to Greenwood Community Church, 5600 E Belleview Ave, Greenwood Village, CO 80111, for the Mission Fund or to assist the family with funeral costs.
