Kim McLeod

Kim E. McLeod was born August 10, 1956 in Valley City, ND, to Dean and Doris (Soli) McLeod. He attended school in Valley City, ND. Kim attended college at both Wahpeton, ND and the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, home of his beloved ""Fighting Sioux"". He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. Kim married Cindy Cramer on November 25, 1978. Their son Ryan was born in 1980, followed by their son Jeff in 1983. Kim's career in engineering took him first to Idaho and eventually to Colorado where he and his family have lived since 1990. Throughout his career he made many wonderful friends. Hockey was Kim's passion, and he played in many leagues over the years, where he made many more wonderful friends. He also coached for the Arvada Hockey Association. After Kim's diagnosis of cancer he became involved with Dawg Nation, where his motto was: ""Attitude is everything; there's humor in everything; smile, laugh, then smile and laugh some more."" He demonstrated this every day and made many people smile and laugh with him. Kim is survived by his wife Cindy; his sons Ryan and Jeff, both of Colorado; his sister, Nadine McLeod of Casper, WY; four brothers: Dale (Robin) McLeod of Mandan, ND; Terry (Cheryl) McLeod of Fargo, ND; Ron (Nancy) McLeod of Washburn, ND; Rory (Rachel) McLeod of Billings, MT; and several nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kenny (Penn) McLeod. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, 11:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 W. 80th Ave., Arvada. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kim's name to Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation, P.O. Box 182, Indian Hills, CO 80454.
