Kim Whitesell

December 24, 1967 — June 27, 2021

Kimberly Katherine Whitesell passed away on June 27, 2021 at the age of 53, in the comfort of her Littleton, Colorado home after a 10-month brave and enduring battle with stomach cancer.  She was strong for her family until the end.

Kim was born to Lynda Belt and Gary Halvorson on December 24th, 1967 in Cloquet, Minnesota.  In her early teens, she moved to Castle Rock, Colorado with her mother and stepfather, Lloyd Belt, and her younger siblings, Julie and Steve.

Kim met her husband, Stu Whitesell, at a Superbowl party in 1995.  Stu still remembers the Niners defeated the Chargers, but Kim’s beautiful blue eyes were what really stole the spotlight that day.  He was everlastingly spellbound.  They were married on September 9th, 1999 with close friends on a beach in Hawaii and a big family and friend reception in Denver, Colorado when they returned.

Kim and Stu welcomed their beautiful twins, Madison and Hayden, on July 24th, 2006.  Kim was a devoted mother to her children - they truly were the light of her life.  She travelled with Madison and Hayden all over the country to see them participate in numerous gymnastics meets and hockey tournaments.  One of Kim’s favorite family outings was camping in the mountains and scrapbooking their adventures.  Kim loved watching her children grow, admired their personalities, and was so proud of their accomplishments.

Kim enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, crafting, gardening, watching hummingbirds, and taking walks with her two dogs.  Her kindness, sense of humor, and quick wit radiated to all those around her.  Kim’s family would like to thank the outpouring of love, support, thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.

Kim is survived by her husband of 21 years, Stu; children, Madison and Hayden; mother, Lynda (Lloyd) Belt;  father, Gary Halvorson; sister, Julie; brother, Steve (Jennifer), niece Ally, and nephew, Josh; mother-in-law, Carolyn; brothers-in-law, Shaun and Randy; and several extended family members and friends.  Kim will be honored at a memorial service and reception at Horan & McConaty - Centennial funeral home from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm on Friday, July 2nd, 2021.

"It was time for our angel to spread her wings and fly.  Her courage, strength, and love touched so many.  Kim will forever be remembered and cherished. Until we meet again, our beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend will be greatly missed.”  Love, Mom
