Kimberly Ann Archuleta was born in Denver, Colorado on February 18, 1965. She was raised by her mother, Patricia, and spent much of her childhood with her grandparents, who cultivated her lifelong love of the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. Kimberly married Derek Ballard in 1983 when they ""sort of"" eloped on April 1. Not everyone believed Kim and Derek went to the Justice of the Peace to tie the knot on April Fool's Day, but it was Good Friday as well⦠which must have been a blessing, because Kimberly and Derek were married for 30 years. Kimberly was a loving mother to her son Josh and daughter Jordan, and loved being a mom. She loved to be around kids, and never said no to family who needed her help with children. At the time of her passing on October 22, she and her family were waiting to hear if her first grandchild would be a boy or a girl. One of Kimberly's other great loves was baseball. Even though she and Derek didn't agree at first (she loved the Dodgers, he was a Giants fan!), they came together over the Rockies and were season ticket holders for many years. RockyBabe will be missed by all, but will live on in the hearts of all those she touched. There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227.
