Kurt was born on April 30, 1917 to Maria Vedder in Werdohl, Germany. Kurt became a US citizen on April 11, 1938. He married Eva (Miokovich) on April 26, 1941. They lived in West Allis, Wisconsin until 1963 when they moved their family to Arvada, Colorado where he and his family opened Arvada Cycle and Sport. In 1980 he retired from Gates Rubber Co. where he was a machinist. Kurt was an avid cyclist and speed skater. He started the West Allis Wisconsin Cycle Club in 1939. He won many medals during his cycling career, along with being the City Champion for speed skating. Kurt is survived by his loving wife Eva of 64 years who lives in Loveland; Art (Nancy) Dickehage and nephew Gary, of Scottsdale, Arizona, sister-in-law Rose Dickehage, Arvada; daughters Karen Kasprzak, Rosemarie (John) Chaffee, Pat (Dale) Williams, Joanne (Gary) Greenawalt; close friends Julian Kasprzak and Cliff Miles. There are also eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff of Loveland Dialysis Center, Colt Transportation, Good Samaritan, Hospice of Larimer County, and the doctors and nurses who assisted in Kurt's care over the last five years. Services will be held at Loveland Good Samaritan Chapel Tuesday at 11:00 am. Final burial will take place at Highland Memorial Cemetery in New Berlin, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Kurt's name to the Hospice of Larimer County, 7604 Colland Drive, Ft. Collins, CO.
