Kyle William MacIntosh

July 10, 1991 — January 29, 2015

Kyle William MacIntosh was born July 10, 1991 to William MacIntosh and Nancy MacIntosh of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. In December of 2013 Kyle was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer called Ewings Sarcoma and was called home on January 29th, 2015. At age five, one of Kyle's soccer coach nicknamed Kyle ""Wheels."" That speed is where Kyle made his mark in athletics. From age nine to thirteen he won seven national junior Olympic medals. In addition, he was a perennial winner in the Colorado Junior Olympics for sprints and hurdles. Kyle attended Littleton High School and continued his dominance on the track. In his senior year of high school Kyle was ranked in the top five in the nation for both the 60-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash for indoor competition. He was the 2009 state champion for the 300-meter hurdles as well. After high school, Kyle attended the University of Colorado on a track scholarship. He was a member of the 2010 4 X 100 meter relay team that qualified for nationals. In 2012 Kyle took sixth at the Pac 12 championships in the 400-meter hurdles. Even as impressive as his life on the track, Kyle was simply a really nice young man with a passion for life. He cared about his family and spent an incredible amount of time with his father, Bill. Kyle loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed having them involved in his life. Kyle also treasured time with his friends. He was a fun loving prankster who always had a smile on his face. Many of his buddies say that Kyle was their best friend. Kyle had the magic touch of making everyone feel included and important in his life. He had the time of his life at CU, enjoying every moment. Kyle had a blast playing video games, dressing up like an elderly woman for parties, doing group projects, listening to music and hanging out with friends. The true testament of his friendships were represented when Kyle spent the last five weeks of his life in the hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage. Day after day dozens of friends would spend long hours at the hospital rallying around Kyle. His friends traveled from around the country and their love and care for Kyle is beyond words. Kyle is survived by his father William, mother Nancy, sister Kendra MacIntosh Daniel (Roger), nephews Brody and Lincoln and niece Hadley. Kyle's memorial service will be held at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch on Tuesday, February 3rd at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the K-Mac Strength Foundation supporting families dealing with pediatric cancer. Please send donations to Western Security Bank 2812 1st Ave. North, Billings, MT 59101. Please share your memories of Kyle and your condolence messages with his family below.
