Lanny James McIntyre

Lanny was born in Denver on April 26, 1934. He passed away at home in Lakewood on December 8, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arch and Mary Jean McIntyre and his oldest son, Mark M. McIntyre. He is survived by his significant other of 21 years, Audrey Carter. He is also survived by the mother of his children by a previous marriage, Susan McIntyre; daughters Jamie Lee McIntyre (Tom Fleming), Katherine McIntyre (Jerry Abbott) and son Michael P. (Paula); daughter-in-law Sheila McIntyre (the late Mark McIntyre); grandsons Sean Cordova (Nikki), Jason Shultz, Travis McIntyre (Lexie) and Trevor McIntyre; two great-grandsons; brother Michael R. McIntyre (Anita); sister Shari L. Doherty (Kevin) and uncle to four nephews. Lanny started his electrical career in 1957 when Ernie Graham, owner of Belmont Electric hired him as a truck driver. Ernie got Lanny into the Electrical Union apprenticeship and in September 1961 he became a Journeyman Electrician and member of the I.B.E.W. Local 68. On August 6, 1966, he went to work for Sturgeon Electric. He loved his job and acquired many great friends there. Due to a ladder accident, he had to leave work July 16, 1995 and retired at 61. During his career with Sturgeon, he worked the Stock Shows, Carousel Ball, Currigan Hall, Taste of Colorado and part-time at Mile High Kennel Club.
