Lansford Ray Hooker

HOOKER, Lansford “Ray” of Aurora; passed peacefully on January 24, 2024, at the age of 98. Ray was born to Giles Hooker and Lucy (Childress) Hooker on June 21, 1925, in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Ray is survived by his wife Maria (Hartig) Hooker and preceded in death by his previous wife Dorothy (Noah) Hooker of 64 years. 

Loving father of Clifton (Julie) Hooker, Cheryl (Duane) DeJonge, and the late Douglas Noah Hooker. Cherished grandpa of Elizabeth (Brendan) Castle, Joanna, Madeline, Thomas, Kevin, James, Lindsey (Elmer) Lehman, Tanner (Alexis) DeJonge, and great grandpa of Carter, Kasen, Camden, Kai, Gerritt, Elin, and Esme. 

UPDATE AS OF January 28:

A Memorial Service is planned for Ray at Malley Senior Center, 3380 S. Lincoln Street, Englewood, Colorado 80133 at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024. A lunch will be provided following the service. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Berkley Hospice: 10697 E Dartmouth Avenue, 80014.

Funeral Services will be held in Mount Airy, North Carolina and are entrusted to Moody Funeral Service & Crematory, 206 West Pine Street, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
