Larry Persing

Early on October 14, 2013 Larry passed away peacefully at home after an 8 yr battle with cancer. He was born on October 30, 1939 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. He was the first-born son of John and Norma Persing and brother to Joan, Linda and Sherry. He attended Rutgers University and later served in the United States Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. He continued his career in Denver working for McDonnell Douglas, Martin Marietta, and the VA Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Doris, his children Jennifer, Larry, and Courtenay, son-in-law Todd Avant, daughter-inlaw Jeanette Persing, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest in a private family service at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Friends of the family who wish to pay their final respects are invited to attend a visitation from 5-7pm on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3201 S. Parker Rd, Aurora.
