Larry Pomarico

We sadly share the news of the death of Larry Pomarico. Larry died very unexpectedly in his home on October 20, 2021. He was born in Denver on May 3, 1956 ,the son of the late Roxie and Bernadine (Depperschmidt) Pomarico.

Larry attended Machebeuf Catholic High School and earned a degree in marketing and finance from the University of Northern Colorado. He began his much respected career in the car industry with Pat Ryan & Associates in 1987, leaving as Division VP in 2000 to form SouthWest Dealer Services, which became a national company with over 400 employees in 30 states. He was the President of Southwest Dealer Services/Acrisure at the time of his death.

Larry was passionate about his love and care of animals, especially his beloved dogs and many animals he rescued over the years. He was devoted to his family and many friends, serving as a role model, mentor and source of advice to many. He delighted in being generous with them and the many animal rescue organizations he supported. He loved his country, his work and Broncos games on Sunday afternoons.

Larry will be deeply missed and always loved by his girlfriend Sue Mergen and her children Katie and Eric; his sister Roxann Bihr and husband Hans; his nephew Leon Bihr and Wife Shelley Sanders; his niece Allison Carow and husband Andy; his trusted pet nanny Shelly Manning and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents and many aunts and uncles.

A viewing and Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Aurora, CO on Friday, October 29th. Viewing will begin at 10am followed by Mass at 10:30am. Services will conclude with a reception in the parish hall and interment will take place at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, CO.
