Laura Vincent Elizondo ""Peggy"" ST. GEORGE, UTAH - Laura ""Peggy"" Vincent Elizondo passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011. She was born September 26, 1923 to George Paul and Eleanor Bellamy Vincent in Selma, California. She later married Joseph B. Elizondo in Marfa, Texas on Christmas Day, December 25, 1944. Peggy was born and raised in Selma, California. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Oregon State University. Peggy was known as one of the ""Sweet P's,"" with her sisters: Paula, Phyllis, and Patricia. Peggy and her husband Joe traveled the world for business and pleasure. Living in Peru for a few years was one of her fondest memories. Traveling to Bethlehem, Germany for the Passion play, Australia, New Zealand, China, South America, and many more countries was a delight in her life. She was also an avid bridge player, enjoyed sewing and handiwork, reading, and loved to play video poker and the slots. She was a member of Sigma Kappa, WAAIME, and a collector of thimbles, eggs, and daisy button glass. The Catholic Church was a very important part of her life. She was the Church Organist for 39 years, 28 of which were in Evergreen, Colorado. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph B. Elizondo; children: Joseph Brian Elizondo (Soo Joo) of Forest Falls, CA, Phyllis Elizondo Swift (Ed) of St. George, UT, Susan Elizondo Wagner (Larry) of Westminster, CO; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her three sisters. Interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 12:00 p.m.
