Laura Bates Tobey, 60, of Denver, Colorado passed away suddenly from a brain aneurysm on July 7, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Laura was born September 17, 1955 in Glencoe, Illinois, a graduate of Michigan State University. The essence of Laura was her kindness, generosity, optimism, her gentle lovingness, and her poppedÂup polo collar. She was always there to help her friends and neighbors, from fixing leaking roofs to bicycles and more, Laura fixed problems every day. Laura was loved by her longtime girlfriend and partner, Cathy Johnson, her father and mother, the late William Robert Tobey and Alice (Channer) Tobey, sister Suzanne Tobey Smart, brother William R. Tobey, Jr. and his wife Anne. Laura's boys, Patrick Larson and his wife Kylie, John Larson and his wife Brie and her grandchildren, Tim Larson, Harper Larson and Brooks Larson, nephews William Hayward Tobey, Jackson Smart, III, niece Ann Rowlands, great nieces Olivia Rowlands, Clair Rowlands, Emma Tobey and Beatrix Tobey.
