Lauren Johnson

Lauren Anne Johnson, 25, of Denver Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2023.

Lauren was born May 8, 1998, to Michael and Ellen Johnson in Biloxi, Mississippi.  After graduating from Fleming Island High School in 2016, she went on to study and swim at the University of West Florida.  Upon completing her studies in criminal justice, she relocated to Denver, Colorado to start her career and satisfy her nature-loving, adventurous spirit.  She loved to hike and explore the beautiful mountainous state with her dog Luna (affectionally known as Bug).

Lauren is survived by her parents, Michael and Ellen of Fleming Island, Florida, her brother, Brendan of Orlando, Florida, her older sister and brother-in-law Caitlyn and Garrett Desoto of Charleston, South Carolina, and her younger sister, Christine of Fleming Island.  She is also survived by her maternal grandfather, Jerry Keegan, of Cresskill, New Jersey and her great aunt, Anne Thomson also of Cresskill, New Jersey along with numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Marcie Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico and her maternal grandmother, Helen Keegan, of Cresskill, New Jersey.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in her honor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fleming Island, Florida on Friday, June 2nd at 2 PM with a reception to follow at Sullivan Hall on the church grounds.  Lauren will be laid to rest this summer in the state she called home, Colorado.
