Laurence Philpott

Laurence (Larry) Philpott, died peacefully at his home in Denver, Colorado on April 19, 2016, surrounded by his family. A Denver native, Larry was the son of Dr. James and Susanne Philpott. In 1984, Larry married the love of his life, Catherine A. McGrath. Larry is survived by his wife, son Nathan Philpott, daughter Lauren Stoffel, son-in-law Nik Stoffel, granddaughter Layla, and his siblings George Philpott and Susie Orda. Larry was a dedicated father, husband, brother, employee, and friend. His passions were bicycling, fishing, cooking, movies, and spending time with his family. Larry's sense of humor and liveliness never failed to put a smile on those around him. Larry battled an aggressive form of oral cancer for almost a year. Larry's family is grateful for the time they had with him, and Larry inspired his friends and family by showing incredible grace and strength throughout his fight. Although gone in body, Larry's spirit will live forever in those who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at the Denver Botanic Gardens on Friday, April 29th from 4-6 pm.
