Laurence "Larry" Barker

Laurence “Larry” Melvin Barker, 91, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully July 11, 2022. He was born March 23, 1931 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Earl Melvin and Marjorie Johanna Hauge Barker.

Larry grew up in Ft. Morgan where he graduated from Ft. Morgan High School. He had a love for all things mechanical and an ability to fix almost anything. He worked in a machine shop, gas station, and was always working on cars in his teen age years.

Larry worked at Sigman Meat company for 42 years where he started at the age of 19 and worked his way up to being the head of purchasing. He also enjoyed ice fishing, pheasant hunting, and spending time with his family. Larry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he was dedicated to his service.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Nell Angie Barker; children, Larry R. and Heidi Barker; Kelly and David Griffey; Eric and Cara Lee Barker; and Dennis and Chris BrokenLeg; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 6:00-8:00pm, at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Ave. (Wadsworth & 80th), Arvada, CO  80003.

An additional visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 10:00-10:45am, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00am, both at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7080 Independence Street, Arvada, CO  80004.

Burial is scheduled for 3pm on Saturday at the Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO  80033.
