LaVahne Anna Hines

LaVahne Anna Hines, 92, of Colorado, yet most recently of Wichita, Kansas, passed away October 16, 2017 in Colorado. She was born in Alvord, Iowa on January 12, 1925 to Bernard and Anna Moeller Serck. LaVahne married William Ray Hines in December of 1946. Because of Bill's love of the mountains, their family moved to Colorado in 1952. Together, LaVahne and Bill Polka danced and loved it. They were even members of Polka Lovers of America. Bill passed away in 2001. LaVahne is survived by three children, Diana Day, David William Hines, Roberta (Martin) Thorpe; step-daughter, Janice (Bruce) Arke; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Serck. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 20th, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 11040 Colorado Blvd, Thornton. Burial will be at 12:30pm on Wednesday, October 25th, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Area 'B', 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO.
